A Small Team With Heart

Together In Steps is a locally run support service built on calm, steady guidance and genuine care for people’s everyday wellbeing. We keep things simple, human and consistent.

Who We Are

Our Story & Foundations

Together In Steps was founded by Natali Louis, an educator and mentor whose background blends teaching, workplace support, and lived experience supporting several family members with Fragile X. These experiences shaped her belief that real progress happens when support is patient, practical, and broken down into steps people can actually use.

Alongside running Together In Steps, Natali continues to teach English as a second language. Her work in education - from helping students build communication skills to supporting adults through workplace and leadership programs - has strengthened her structured, step-by-step approach to learning. These foundations now shape the way our entire team supports participants.

Today, Together In Steps is made up of dedicated mentors who follow the same calm, practical, and structured method: Explore, Plan, Practise & Record and Grow. While every team member brings their own strengths and experience, our shared commitment remains the same - to help people build real-life confidence that lasts beyond the session.

We believe in support that makes sense, feels achievable, and grows with each step.

We support people to take on more of their daily life with confidence, using clear steps and real environments to make each skill meaningful.

What Guides Us

Our Purpose & Goals

Together In Steps was founded on one clear idea: people deserve support that actually teaches, not supervision disguised as community access.

Mission

To provide thoughtful, one-on-one support grounded in real teaching - helping people build skills they can use confidently in daily life.

Vision

A Sydney community where people are supported by workers who genuinely teach, not simply accompany, and where steady learning becomes the norm rather than the exception.

Six Steps To Learning

A Framework That Builds Skills

Our support is built around a simple six-step learning framework designed to help people progress steadily and safely. Each step keeps sessions predictable, purposeful and aligned with the person’s goals. Whether we’re working at home or in the community, this structure guides how skills are introduced, practised and strengthened.

Explore

Understanding the person’s goals and identifying which real-life skill will make the biggest impact right now.

Plan

Breaking the skill into clear, achievable steps and deciding where the learning will take place.

Practise

Working together in real situations — at home, on the street, at the café or wherever the skill is used.

Reflect

Talking through what went well, what was tricky and what should be tried differently next time.

Record

Noting progress so families and support networks can see improvements over time.

Grow

Building on each achievement, adding new steps and strengthening confidence with steady repetition.
